How it works

Simulated grounding snippets

The system discovers the top organic results for your query, scrapes each competing page, and has the AI model generate an extractive snippet from the actual page content. This simulates what AI search engines would use when grounding their answers, giving you a realistic competitive set to optimize against. Included in all plans.

Genuine grounding snippets*

Instead of simulating what the grounding snippet would look like, this mode extracts the actual content chunks that Google's AI uses when grounding its responses. You compete against the real snippets, not approximations. Available on Pro and Client plans as a per-run toggle.

* Genuine grounding snippets are extracted directly from Google's backend using a proprietary method. This capability works today but is not guaranteed long-term as Google may restrict access in the future. Simulated snippets will always remain available as a reliable alternative.
